Excellent game. The Despres stat was something I wondered about too. Thanks for adding that in.

I thought Fleury looked sensational in that second period, very strong. Good for him!

The tuck rule is retarded. You're right. The refs can't even get the rules that they have supposed to have been calling for the last 100 right and now they are supposed to call something as dumb as making sure each jersey isn't tucked in.
By the way, I can't shake the feeling of that the NHL's insistence to call this rule is a lead into ad's on the jerseys. |

Its amazing how fast crosby got to 700 when you consider all the time he's missed the last few years. |

Last three games, they got blown out by Columbus, gave up a 4-1 lead vs Pens, and lost to the worst team in the NHL.... But yeah... the referees are the problem lol |

@otterN9NE: Thanks to the Toronto fans that donated their Tall Boys, we had the trainers grab them 4 a nice day off. #Classy |

Despres making the Penguins and doubters look silly right now. - Deadstar
Not sure about making the Penguins look silly... They seemed to have had the Wilkes-Barre coaches really make him put A LOT of emphasis on his defensive play this season. I'm not saying that he wasn't ready to contribute at the start of this season, but being sent down and the work he put in might have been more beneficial to him long-term than being rotating through the press box in Pittsburgh for the last couple months. |

He's consistently been better than most of their defensemen dating back to last season was why they are silly. He has definitely grown since last year. I didnt get to see the Toronto game, but its night and day the difference between him and Engelland, Niskanen at times, and Bortuzzo. Even Maatta. As good as he is, I cant help but think this year was unnecessary from him contract wise. |

I do think that everything changed as far as plans for him when they signed Scuderi... and his subpar and Maatta's great camp set him back even further.
But it's funny that you bring up his contract, that could be the silver lining of all of this. If he played a top 4 role this season and played it well, his next deal could be twice as much as it's likely going to be now. |

I must say that the only "doubters" have seemed to be the Penguins themselves. |

I agree with you on that. That made us question their decision only.
If we move Engelland I Hope he ends up in a team with a good fan base. Winnipeg would be my ideal destination for him. |

Engo could always end up as forward depth as well. Over the past few games he has had to move up and has performed admirably but obviously we'd prefer Despres and Bortuzzo to get time while they are out. Plus...God forbid there's another injury he can step in. Nobody wants that but we know it can and does happen.
This is the ideal time to see what Shero has done with the last several drafts. We lost two big defensive components but can still lean on young, talent to carry things on the back end...while WBS has a slew of talent still after losing its top pairing. |
